
A carjacking in Lower Makefield Township escalated into a high-speed pursuit and foot chase that culminated in the arrest of a man in Falls Township, according to police.

The incident began around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Stony Hill Road when a male suspect forcibly removed a driver from his vehicle and repeatedly struck him in the head, Lower Makefield Township police said.
Following the assault, the suspect stole the victim’s vehicle and fled the scene, police said.
Responding to the reported carjacking, Lower Makefield Township police located the stolen vehicle and a pursuit began, police said.

The short chase made its way to into Falls Township.
The chase ended near the Oxford Valley Road and Lincoln Highway intersection, close to the border of Falls Township and Middletown Township, police said.

After abandoning the vehicle, the suspect attempted to escape officer on foot, police said.

Lower Makefield Township officers captured the suspect during the foot pursuit with the assistance of Falls Township police, said Lower Makefield Township Police Deputy Chief Bob Lewis.
The reported victim of the carjacking positively identified the suspect as the assailant.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, had outstanding warrants in Bucks County and will face charges of robbery, inflicting serious bodily injury, aggravated assault, criminal mischief, tampering with property, and receiving stolen property.
As of Monday, formal charges against the suspect for the carjacking had not yet been filed.
