Prokopiak joins two other Democrats – Donna Petrecco and Melanie Bidlingmaier – vying for the Democratic State Rep. John Galloway’s seat.
Galloway’s impending December 15 resignation will open up the 140th Legislative District seat that encompasses Falls Township, Morrisville Borough, Tullytown Borough, and a section of Middletown Township. Galloway will fill retiring District Judge Jan Vislosky’s seat early in the new year.
At 49 years old, Prokopiak is a graduate of West Chester University and Temple University School of Law.

Bringing over a decade of public service experience, Prokopiak, a Levittown resident and father of three, said he is currently the only candidate in the race with prior elected experience.
Prokopiak’s time in public service began with his election to the Pennsbury School Board in 2021. He noted his time of the board has shown his commitment to public education and he has voted against tax increases in both 2022 and 2023.

Prior to his current role, Prokopiak served as a Falls Township supervisor from 2002 to 2009. He said his time as a supervisor oversaw a reduction in costly lawsuits, the creation of additional jobs in the area, an increase in recreational activities, and the expansion of Falls Township Community Park.
Prokopiak said he advocated for an LED Streetlight pilot program, which reduced municipal costs, and he never voted to raise taxes while a supervisor.
Prokopiak is a member of the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority board. He has also volunteered as a basketball and flag football coach.

“When elected, Prokopiak pledges to champion legislation that seeks to restore the American dream for all in Lower Bucks County. Prokopiak will fight for attainable housing, quality jobs that pay livable wages and benefits, affordable healthcare for all, codifying women’s reproductive rights into the Pennsylvania Constitution, and properly funding public education,” Prokopiak’s campaign said in a statement.
The Democrat has already earned the endorsements of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 269, Steamfitters Local Union 420, and Falls Township supervisors Jeff Boraski, Jeff Dence, and John Palmer.
