Judge William C. Ryan will in a few days issue a formal order to the sheriff and jury commissioners of Bucks County to fill the 1921 jury wheel with the names of 200 persons “from the whole number of qualified electors of the county.”

When questioned as to whether the names of women would be placed in the wheel, Judge Ryan said the Commissioners had not decided but that he was almost sure that the women’s names would go in with those of the men.

The selection will start Monday morning November 29, Judge Ryan said.

This carries with it the selection of both men and women who, in the judgment of those entrusted with the nominating of persons for the jury panels, are deemed qualified for the duty to which they are to be assigned as citizens of Bucks County.

During the past month, there has been a lot of discussion pro and con as to whether women would be placed in the 1921 jury wheel in Bucks County. Some protests were heard while others think that women’s names should be placed the same as the men.

Judge Ryan said that unless something unforeseen happens, the names of women will go in the wheel in Bucks County.
