“I will be resigning my position as state representative as of December 15 of this year,” Galloway told LevittownNow.com.
Galloway’s impending resignation will open up the 140th Legislative District seat that encompasses Falls Township, Tullytown Borough, and a section of Middletown Township.
The open seat will trigger a special election to be called for early 2024.

The special election is seen as important for both parties as they vie for the majority in the Pennsylvania House. Democrats presently hold a slight majority.
Falls Township resident Donna Petrecco, a Democrat, has already announced she will run for the seat.

Galloway will fill retiring District Judge Jan Vislosky’s seat early in the new year.
A Pennsbury High School alum, Galloway has an extensive background that includes a stint on the Pennsbury School Board and various roles in the private sector.
Galloway has served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives since 2006. He has made his reputation on being a moderate member of the caucus, leading to him considering a run for lieutenant governor in 2013.

Galloway has written legislation that has become law, and supported organized labor. He also served on the Pennsylvania House Judiciary Committee and founded the “Push Out The Pusher” program that has fought drug crimes in the area.
Pennsylvania’s district courts serve as the lowest tier of the state’s Unified Judicial System. They handle a spectrum of matters from preliminary arraignments and hearings to civil claims not exceeding $12,000, making them a frequent point of contact for the public with the judicial system.
