The fire broke out at Bucks County Carpet in the 800 block of Cedar Avenue in the Croydon section of Bristol Township.

Firefighters arrived to find flames against the building. The fire quickly spread up the exterior wall and into the attic space, according to Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito.

A captain from the Croydon Fire Company was injured when the attic floor collapsed beneath him as he fought the flames. He fell approximately 12 feet to the concrete floor below, the fire marshal said.
