The 14-month construction project will upgrade the existing 60,000-square-foot facility.
The Falls Township Board of Supervisors and its engineering and construction teams held a ceremonial groundbreaking for the project this week, according to a township spokesperson.
Township staff moved to temporary offices at 430-450 Lincoln Highway in July and expect to return to the refurbished building by the end of 2024, Township Manager Matthew Takita said.

Crews have already begun gutting the building, digging up the pavement, and installing a fence that now surrounds the construction zone.

“The building is being torn down to its shell and will be expanded to accommodate the current and future needs of the Township,” Grace Construction Project Manager James Gates said. “Some of the design aspects were incorporated to pay homage to the Township’s history.”
Upgrades will include new mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.

The redesigned space will feature revamped areas for finance, parks and recreation, police, clerks, tax collection, and public works. The complex will also transition from a public meeting room to a community room available for local residents and organizations. Additionally, the facility will offer expanded support and amenity spaces, versatile meeting areas, startup incubator spaces, and more, officials have said.
The first floor of the renovated Falls Township Municipal Complex will house all municipal functions for the benefit of those who are elderly or have physical disabilities.
“Our board is excited for the day we can reopen the doors and welcome our staff and residents back into the building,” Supervisor Chairman Jeff Dence said.
