Drivers in the affected areas should be prepared for intermittent road closures at grade crossings during the work hours, according to SEPTA.
In addition, those living in quiet zones might hear train horns more frequently.
Due to Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) safety guidelines, train horns must be sounded when passing halted equipment and to notify railway workers of an oncoming train, SEPTA said.

While the area might be a quiet zone, train engineers retain the discretion to sound the horns for safety and other reasons, SEPTA said.
SEPTA is urging both its customers and the general public to practice caution around train tracks.
