Local Soccer Store & Program Under New Management

Soccer Stars, a business located in Oxford Valley Mall, is under new ownership.

The store opened in Middletown Township in 2019 and was recently been taken over by Liz and Bill O’Shea, who are soccer enthusiasts.

With professional experience in business and sales, Liz and Bill O’Shea found Soccer Stars to be the ideal franchise business opportunity, especially given their two soccer-enthusiastic kids.

Having spent a significant time in Switzerland, their return to the U.S. also brought their passion for soccer.

“Our kids have met many of their friends through soccer even at an early age, and because of that my husband and I have to! Bill and I have learned to just have fun with our kids and soccer has helped us as a family to do that! A sport doesn’t always have to be competitive – it’s important to have fun too!” said Liz O’Shea.

Unlike traditional soccer programs that focus purely on the sport’s technical aspects, Soccer Stars aims to blend imagination with physical activity.

Soccer Stars focuses on children of all ages, the operators said.

“There are many sports and soccer programs in the market today. Soccer Stars is unique because of our curriculum and style of teaching soccer. We want kids to have fun so it’s more than cones, goals, and balls,” Liz O’Shea.

In addition to offering lessons from their space with indoor turf at the mall, Soccer Stars also goes out in the community.

“We run a few park and recreation soccer programs in the area as well as work with Cora services to offer after school programs in schools where kids may not have a lot of opportunity for extracurricular activities,” Liz O’Shea said.
