A crash on I-95 in Bristol Township last week was caused by a driver who fell asleep, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The crash happened just past 1 a.m. on Sunday, September 17 when a 2009 Honda Civic and a 2019 Nissan Rogue crashed along I-95 southbound near the Bristol exit.
State police said the 20-year-old Philadelphia woman driving the Honda fell asleep and struck the rear of the Nissan, which was driven by a 29-year-old Philadelphia woman.
The Honda spun after the collision and ended up coming to rest in one of the lanes on the highway, state police said.

The driver of the Honda was unhurt, and the driver of the Nissan that was struck suffered a neck injury, troopers said.
The Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad was called, but the injured woman refused transportation to the hospital.

The woman driving the Honda will be cited for causing the crash, state police said.
The Nissan had to be towed from the scene.
