
A fire at a business in Bristol Township damaged a multi-million dollar piece of equipment.

Crews were called at 4:27 a.m. Thursday to CP Flexible Packaging in the 100 block of Rittenhouse Circle for a report of a fire alarm. By: 4:35 a.m., the call was upgraded to a building fire.
Newportville Fire Company Deputy Chief Fred Black said the blaze was in a large printing press in the building.
Crews went to work and were able to quickly put out the fire, Black said.

The building’s sprinkler system was activated and kept the fire under control, Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said.

Black said no injuries were reported.

Dippolito said employees working at the facility reported the machinery fire.
Fire officials didn’t release additional details on the printing press, but it was reported to be worth several million dollars.
In addition to the Newportville Fire Company, the America Hose, Hook, and Ladder; Bristol Consolidated; Croydon; Edgely; Goodwill Hose; Levittown No. 2; Newport; Penndel; Third District; and William Penn fire companies responded. The Bucks County Rescue Squad was also on the scene.
