Paddleboarder, Dog Rescued From Lake Luxembourg

A woman and her dog were rescued from Lake Luxembourg at Core Creek Park on Sunday evening.

Just before 7 p.m., a caller reported seeing a woman in the water and screaming for help. Police, firefighters, and medics were dispatched to the scene.

Crews arrived to find a woman in the lake and a paddleboard with her dog on it floating away.

Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Chief Frank Farry said a Middletown Township police officer went into the water, rescued the woman, and retrieved the paddleboard with the dog on it.

The woman and dog were brought to shore.

The woman and dog were uninjured, and the woman refused treatment from the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad, Farry said.

Police Capt. Pete Feeney identified the officer who went into the water as Alexa Moors.

In addition to the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company, the Yardley-Makefield Fire Company’s boat was called to the scene, but it was not needed due to the quick rescue by the police officer, Farry said.
