Middletown Township were among a number of agencies to play a role in a Central Bucks County child pornography investigation.

Recently, Anthony Norman Defrancisco, 52, was arrested after an months-long investigation led by the Warrington Township Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and Computer Crimes Unit.
The Middletown Township, Lower Southampton Township, Bensalem Township, and Lower Makefield Township police departments, as well as the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations, were involved in the probe that aimed to find those in possession and accused of disseminating child sexual abuseย material within Bucks County.
The investigation had initially begun on May 28, 2023 when a Warrington police investigator, who was working undercover, downloaded multiple files from file-sharing software, police said.

Detailed forensic investigations led authorities to attribute the computer and its content to Defrancisco, police said.
When authorities reached his residence, they discovered not just one, but several computers and other forms of digital storage media, police said.

Following his arrest, Defrancisco was presented before Magisterial District Judge Stacy Wertman on on charges of child porn and criminal use of communication facility. His bail was set at 10 percent of $126,000. He was released on a surety bond.
