Tullytown Borough Council has updated parking restrictions around Walt Disney Elementary School, which sits in the borough and Falls Township.

Council voted this month to implement an updated no parking ordinance, placing parking restrictions on Lakeside Drive on the northern side, Learning Lane on the western side, and Pinewood Drive on the southern side.
The no parking restrictions will be in place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The new regulations follow a parking study conducted by the borough around the school.

An official said the restrictions are planned for areas commonly used by parents picking up or dropping off their kids, with the goal to keep students safe.
The updated restrictions will allow borough officers to write tickets if needed for the no parking zones.

Also at the meeting, the borough voted to hire two part-time officers to fill open positions. One of the vacancies came when a part-time officer, who was working close to full-time hours, left the town for a job with another police agency.
