PennDOT’s project to improve the West Lincoln Highway corridor in Penndel Borough continued this week.
Starting Monday and continuing through Friday, August 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays, a lane closure with flaggers directing traffic is taking place in both directions between Glen Avenue and Lincoln Avenue.

Also during the same period, a weekday lane closure with flagging is scheduled onย Hulmeville Avenue between Comly Avenue and Crescent Street.
Drivers are advised by PennDOT to give extra time when traveling through the work zones.
All of the work is weather dependent.

Hulmeville Avenue near the bridge over the rail lines has been closed in recent weeks due to the PennDOT project.
Penndel Borough officials said last week that the road could reopen on Thursday.

PennDOT and contractor Road-Con Inc. is working to widen the existing intersection to add exclusive left-turn lanes; mill, pave and stripe the intersection and its approaches; upgrade existing traffic signal equipment; and install new ADA curb ramps at the West Lincoln Highway intersections at Hulmeville Avenue and Noeland Avenue.ย
In addition, the project includes replacing the existing sidewalk along the north and south side of Lincoln Highway approaching the intersection with Hulmeville Avenue; adjusting the curbing to improve truck turning radius; and upgrading drainage inlets and pipes.
The project is costing $2.2 million, which is financed 100 percent with federal money.
