Authorities were appealing for public assistance in locating the driver of a dark gray four-door sedan, believed to be a Honda, who left the scene of the crash.

The two juvenile boys were crossing the roadway midblock when the sedan in the left lane, swerved to avoid the first boy. The sedan may have struck the second juvenile, who was standing in the middle lane, police said.

The second juvenile was lying on Street Road when he was struck again. He was hit for the second time by a silver Hyundai Tucson, police said.

“Neither of the vehicles attributed to the causation of this crash,” police said.

The operator of the silver Hyundai Tucson remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. However, the driver of the dark-gray sedan, who initially stopped, reentered the vehicle and fled the scene before the arrival of the police, authorities said.
