Around 6:20 a.m. Tuesday, Bristol Township police were called to the 700 block of Newportville Road in Bristol Township’s Croydon section for a report of a trespasser, court papers reviewed by LevittownNow.com said.
According to police, the homeowner’s daughter woke him and stated there was an unidentified man on their roof. The homeowner went outside and witnessed the suspect hanging from the second-story deck and steadying himself onto the railing.
The homeowner realized the suspect was wearing the homeowner’s Nike shoes, which had been left outside the previous night, police said.

The suspect ended up discarding the homeowner’s shoes and replaced them with his own pair before fleeing fleeing through a gate towards Newportville Road toward Neshaminy Street, police said.
The homeowner provided a description of the man to officers.

An officer responding to the scene spotted the suspect on Neshaminy Street near Hillcrest Avenue and stopped him, police said.
The suspect was identified as Nukri Levanidze, 27, who has no known address, according to court papers.
When asked as to why he was at the home on Newportville Road, Levanidze said he spotted some shoes next to the house and decided to try them on. He further explained he had climbed onto the second-story deck to retrieve a rubber bracelet that he had accidentally thrown up there. He pointed to one of two bracelets he was wearing at the time, police said.

To confirm Levanidze’s identity, the homeowner was transported from his home to Neshaminy Street and Hillcrest Avenue, where he positively identified Levanidze as the trespasser he had witnessed on his property, police said.
Officers returned to the scene of the crime to gather evidence, and the homeowner turned over a water bottle found in the kitchen of the home. The water bottled was believed to have been left in the home when Levanidze’s made entry, police said.

Law enforcement officials said they collected DNA swabs from both the inside and outside of the bottle for analysis.
Levanidze was preliminarily arraigned before on-call District Judge Brian Marriott this week on charges of burglary, theft, and defiant trespassing of a fenced or enclosed area. He was held on 10 percent of $35,000.
