Kelvontae Nasheed Perry, of Bristol Township, allegedly conspired with accomplices to fatally shoot 21-year-old Shaquille Love on December 23, 2020 in the 1800 block of Edgely Road between Marion and Curtis avenues, according to court papers.
The investigation, conducted by the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and the Bristol Township Police Department, unveiled significant evidence leading to the charges. The case was brought before the Bucks County 20th Investigating Grand Jury starting in February 2022.
The culmination of the investigation resulted in the Grand Jury’s recommendation to charge Perry with first-degree murder, aggravated assault, firearms violations, possession of an instrument of crime, possession of a weapon, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, and conspiracy. The charges were subsequently approved by Supervising Court of Common Pleas Judge Raymond McHugh.

Perry appeared for arraignment on June 7 before District Judge Terry Hughes, who denied bail.

From the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office:
Officers with the Bristol Township Police Department were dispatched at 7 p.m. on Dec. 23, 2020, to the 1800 block of Edgely Road for a report of a shooting. At the scene, officers discovered a deceased male, later identified as Love, in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. It was determined that he died from a single gunshot to the head.

The investigation revealed that Perry was driving his gold Lexus on that date and was purposefully following Love’s vehicle throughout the Bristol Township area just prior to the homicide. Love noticed a vehicle was following him and pulled over to let it pass him.
As Perry passed Loveโs vehicle, he slowed down just long enough for his co-conspirator to shoot Love out of the front passenger window, and then he quickly sped away. Perryโs vehicle was found a month later parked at his girlfriendโs apartment complex.

Investigators established that the motive behind the homicide likely stemmed from an ongoing feud between rival neighborhoods, authorities said in a statement.

Although Love was not directly involved in the dispute, the investigation revealed that he had a childhood friend who had connections to one of the feuding neighborhoods. Love’s friend was present in the passenger seat of the vehicle on the night of the incident, prosecutors said.
In a 2021 plea to the public for information on the fatal shooting, Shauna Love, the mother of the victim, said: โNo one had the right to walk up to his car and shoot him.

Additionally, a second individual, Quashaad Rodney James, 27, is facing charges related to the case.

James is accused of providing false information to the Grand Jury under oath by wrongly accusing another person of being Love’s killer. Currently incarcerated for an unrelated matter, James has been charged with perjury and two counts of false swearing, authorities said.
