The fire happened in the 60 block of North Court Lane in Falls Township’s Levittown section shortly before 6 a.m.

Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said a passerby called 9-1-1 after spotting flames through a front window.

Neighbors jumped into action and attempted to save the dog, but their efforts were unsuccessful, Dippolito said.

No one was home at the time of the blaze.

Dippolito said the home suffered fire, heat, and smoke damage throughout.

“The fire appeared to have started in the area of the kitchen,” the fire marshal told LevittownNow.com.
