A Bucks County Sheriff’s Office deputy assigned to the warrant unit was traveling in an unmarked vehicle on Emilie Road near Indian Creek Place in Bristol Township just past 8 a.m. when he spotted the 53-year-old man who he knew was wanted, according to court records.

The deputy made a U-turn and drove past the man again, confirming it was the wanted man, the sheriff’s office said.

The deputy reported he got out of his unmarked vehicle and identified himself to the man.

The man immediately ran away on Emilie Road and jumped the gate of a home on Indian Creek Drive, authorities said.

The deputy chased the man and had a gate slammed in his face, causing the deputy to have to break through the gate, authorities said.

The deputy continued chasing the man until he was brought to the ground in the 50 block of Indian Creek Drive, authorities said.

The man was handcuffed and placed in the back seat of a sheriff’s office vehicle.

Court papers did not include further information on the warrant the man was wanted on.
