The incident reportedly took place around 8:40 a.m. on Terrace Road.
According to Kern’s letter, the driver asked the students if they attended Pearl Buck Elementary School and offered them a ride or an umbrella. The students declined the offers, and as one student began to dial their phone, the driver quickly left the scene.
The vehicle continued along Terrace Road and turned left onto Oxford Valley Road.

The students reported the incident to their homeroom teachers once they got to the school.
Kern wrote that the vehicle involved was described as a black Mercedes sedan with a black or grey interior that approached from the direction of Woodbourne Road.
The driver was described as a white woman between 50 to 60 years of age with shoulder-length, orange-dyed gray hair that was styled. The students also reported that the driver wore black eye shadow, heavy red lipstick, a pink t-shirt with a black vest or outerwear, and light blue jeans.

The letter stated the driver told the students she lived in the neighborhood and was a scout leader.
Neshaminy School District Director of Security Kevin Burns and Middletown Township Police Department School Resource Officer Missy Robison were alerted and are investigating.
“We encourage families to discuss situations like these with their children and reinforce appropriate responses to unusual circumstances such as what occurred today. In addition, I have asked the Pearl Buck staff to review personal safety with students prior to dismissal today,” Kern wrote.

Upon arriving at school, the students immediately reported the concern to their homeroom teachers. I immediately contacted Kevin Burns, Director of Security, and Officer Missy Robison (School Resource Officer). The students were able to provide detailed descriptions and a recounting of the limited interaction.
It was reported the vehicle approached from the direction of Woodbourne Road and was described as a black Mercedes sedan with black/grey interior. The driver was described as a white female, 50-60 years of age with grey hair dyed orange, shoulder length, and styled. In addition, the students stated the driver wore black eye shadow, heavy red lipstick, a pink t-shirt with a black vest or some sort of outer clothing and light blue jeans. The driver claimed she lived in the neighborhood and was a scout leader. Students reported the driver continued along Terrace Road and turned left onto Oxford Valley Road.
We encourage families to discuss situations like these with their children and reinforce appropriate responses to unusual circumstances such as what occurred today. In addition, I have asked the Pearl Buck staff to review personal safety with students prior to dismissal today. Finally, Officer Robison has filed a report with MTPD. If you or your neighbors have video of the black Mercedes, please contact Missy Robison at mrobison@mtpd.org.
