Two Charged After Alleged Break-In At Home

Two men have been charged after they were caught sneaking around a residence in Middletown Township recently, according to police and court records.

Middletown Township police said officers responded to a call reporting a break-in at a home on the 1600 block of Winter Avenue at 1:34 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19. Upon arrival, an officer saw two individuals – later identified as Vincent Anthony Moroney, 26, of Bristol, and Michael Joseph DeSantis, 62, of Langhorne – walking along the side of the residence, coming from the rear to the front.

Further investigation revealed that Moroney had made entry into the home and gone through it. He claimed that he turned on the lights inside the residence because it was too dark, police said.

Authorities said no one was home at the time of the incident.

The homeowner confirmed to responding officers that no one had permission to be in the residence, police said.

Moroney was charged last month with burglary, criminal trespassing, loitering and prowling at nighttime. He preliminarily arraigned by District Judge Regina Armitage and held on 10 percent of $20,000 bail. A Bucks County Court of Common Pleas judge later reduced bail to 10 percent of $10,000.

DeSantis was charged via summons on Monday with loitering and prowling at nighttime.
