In a letter to parents, Superintendent Dr. Thomas Smith and Principal Reggie Meadows said the district looked into a report Thursday that a student had a weapon in their vehicle.

“The student was identified, questioned, and local law enforcement was contacted. The student admitted to having a BB gun in their car,” the administrators wrote.

There was no evidence the BB gun was brought into the buildings of the high school in Falls Township.

Police were reported to have taken over the case.

“To be clear, bringing any type of weapon (even a plastic look-alike) onto school grounds is a violation of the law. The student is subject to criminal charges and school-imposed disciplinary measures as per school board policy and appropriate laws that govern weapons on school grounds,” the administrators said.

They added: “As we have shared with previous events, our district is committed to the safety and education of all our students. We also want to clearly communicate timely and accurate information to families about safety issues when they arise. We encourage students and staff to report any concern of this nature to building or district administration.”
