For most of Middletown Township police Officer Glenn McPherson’s career in the municipality, he has served on the local tactical team.

McPherson was recognized recently at a public meeting for his 25 years serving the Bucks South Central Emergency Response Team, a tactical team made up of officers from 13 Lower Bucks County police departments.

McPherson remains on the police force, but has retired from his position on the multi-agency team that responds to high-risk situations.

Police Chief Joseph Bartorilla commended McPherson for his service to the team.

McPherson served the team as a tactical operator, group leader, and on the team’s administration unit.

“He was one of five original Middletown Township Police Department South Central Emergency Response Team members, joining at its inception in 1998,” the Bartorilla said.

The chief added: “His leadership and commitment to the team will be missed.”

The police department and the Middletown Township Board of Supervisors presented McPherson with a plaque to recognize his service.

The supervisors and police department also recognized Mike Lubold, who retired in March after 33 years on patrol in the township.

Bartorilla said Lubold rose through the ranks over the years and retired as one of the most respected crash investigators in the state.

The chief explained that Lubold was so good at crash investigations that he often was called to testify.

Lubold, whose daughter is a detective in Central Bucks County, will have more to spend more time with his family, the chief said.
