The work has led to and will continue to cause periodic weekday lane closures along Route 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until the striping is completed.

PennDOT officials said the work could cause slowdowns and is dependent on nice weather.

PennDOT has been performing safety improvements for weeks along Route 13 in Bristol Borough, Bristol Township, and Tullytown Borough after a number of serious crashes and pedestrian strikes.

The line striping work is part of a regional safety enhancement project that is impacting state roadways in Bucks and Montgomery counties.

Contractor Kuharchik Construction Inc., of Exeter in Luzerne County, has been hired to perform the work. The contract is for $7.5 million and is financed with federal money.
