Credit Counseling Center Opens Location In Bristol Twp.

The nonprofit Credit Counseling Center celebrated the opening of two new office locations at Bucks County Community College campuses last week.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks in Bristol Township. Local government officials, community partners, the Credit Counseling Center’s board of directors, and clients and friends attended the event, held in partnership with the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce.

The Credit Counseling Center offers counseling appointments at the Lower Bucks County campus on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Upper Bucks Campus on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to help students, faculty, and the community enhance their financial well-being.

In Bristol Township, the new center is located in the hallway off the main student concourse.

Services are free and include help with budgeting, paying off debt, avoiding foreclosure and eviction, managing student loans, building credit, buying a home, and planning for retirement, officials from the nonprofit said.

Paula Powers-Watts, Credit Counseling Center’s executive director, expressed her pleasure in the expansion.

“We are pleased to now have a presence on not one, but two Bucks County Community College campuses,” she said. “It’s so important for people to know that help will never be out of reach when it comes to managing money – for the BCCC students, faculty, and entire nearby community. There should be no stigma when it comes to talking about finances.”

“We are thrilled to have this partnership with Credit Counseling Center at both our Epstein Campus in Bristol and at our Upper Bucks Campus in Perkasie. This has been a win-win for everyone involved: the College, Credit Counseling Center, our community, and our students,” said Jim Sell, the executive dean at the Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks and the Upper Bucks Campus in East Rockhill Township.

Over the past 28 years, CCC’s non-profit financial counseling workshops and private counseling programs have helped improve the lives of more than 100,000 people, providing them with guidance and tools to improve their quality of life and create greater opportunities for economic mobility.
