
PennDOT officials warn that periodic lane closures are planned along Route 13 this week as the installation of rumble strips will continue.

As part of new safety measures, PennDOT is adding rumble strips to the northbound lanes of Route 13 from the Philadelphia border with Bensalem Township through Bristol Township and up to Levittown Parkway in Tullytown Borough.
The work this week will take place Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will lead to periodic lane closures.
The project began last week along Route 13.

Drivers have been advised by PennDOT that the work could cause some traffic backups.
Municipal officials have been working with PennDOT to improve safety along Route 13.

The rumble strip installation is part of a $7.5 million regional project by PennDOT to improve safety. The state is receiving federal funds to cover the entire project.
Kuharchik Construction Inc., of Luzerne County, is performing the work.
