LevittownNow.com readers have recently reported contractors have been seen at the building that sits near the intersection, in what was once the hamlet of Bridgetown.
County spokesperson James O’Malley said contractors are carrying out asbestos abatement before demolition of the structure will take place.
Demolition of the structure is expected to start soon.

The house has been owned by the county for decades and has been vacant in recent years. As the residence has sat vacant, the deterioration has been obvious from the outside as vines have overtaken parts of the former dwelling and the yellow paint on the wood siding has flaked off.
The county spokesperson said the building is being taken down because it is in disrepair.
The property sits in a floodplain near the Neshaminy Creek.

Little historical information on the property is easily found online, but Phillyburbs.com history columnist Carl LaVO wrote in 2017 that the building was believed to be called the Cuckold-Town Tavern in the 1700s before it was later converted to be a home when a tannery was operated at the site.
