Just before 9 p.m., 9-1-1 received a call that an apartment was ablaze in a multi-unit residential building in the 100 block of North Bellevue Avenue, which sits just outside of the borough’s central business district.

Frank Farry, the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company chief, said initial reports were unclear if anyone else was in the building.

Volunteer firefighters rushed from the nearby Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company and were operating at the scene within two minutes of the call being placed. They searched the building and began fighting flames.

Farry said no injuries were reported and the fire was contained to one unit, with smoke damage to other apartments.

“We had the fire under control within 15 minutes,” he said.

The Middletown Township Fire Marshal’s Office was assisting in the investigation.

In addition to the Langhorne-Middletown crews, the Penndel, Parkland, and William Penn fire companies were at the scene.
