A Bristol Township woman is facing charges after police alleged recently that she stole her co-workers checks at a Langhorne Borough retirement community.

In court papers filed this week by Langhorne Borough police, Sgt. Michael Phelan wrote that he responded in late December 2022 to the Oxford Enhanced Senior Living community on East Winchester Avenue for a report of stolen paychecks. He arrived and a human resources employee said staffers reported missing paychecks.

Police said some of the checks were deposited in a PNC Bank account belonging to Quadairah Danis Leonard, 32, of Bristol Township’s Levittown section.

In early January, the Langhorne Borough lawman talked with the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and applied for a search warrant for Leonard’s account at PNC Bank, police said.

A district judge approved the search warrant and signed it, police said.

The search warrant was served at the PNC Bank location on Oxford Valley Road in Lower Makefield Township later in the day. The branch manager said they had to send the search warrant to their legal team for further review, police said.

Two weeks later, PNC Bank provided Langhorne Borough police with Leonard’s bank records.

Police said Leonard’s account showed seven checks from Oxford Enhanced Senior Living were deposited into her account via the mobile deposit feature. Records reportedly showed the checks were for several employees and from October through December of last year.

The checks totaled $2,349.12, police said.

At the end of January, the borough investigator met with Leonard and admitted she took the checks from a desk at the retirement community and deposited them into her account, police said.

Leonard claimed her boyfriend at the time made her do it, police said.

Leonard was preliminarily arraigned before District Judge Daniel Baranoski last week on four counts each of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, forgery, and criminal use of a communication facility. She was released on $15,000 unsecured bail.
