Several customers said they plan to contact the Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority about the problems and others said they had and their charges lowered after calling.
A Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority (BCWSA) spokesperson confirmed issues have been noticed and “total usages for some customers were not recorded in the last quarterly billing cycle.”
The Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority purchased the borough-owned sewer system for $50 million last year. The most recent bills were one of the first issued since the sale was completed.

“The last quarterly billing cycle that BCWSA processed did not have the total usages for some customers. This was a result from the conversion of readings in BCWSA’s billing cycle. Some customers experienced much lower billing amounts because of the lower consumption recorded. For example, only one month of usage may have been captured during the cycle instead of all three months,” a spokesperson for the authority said.
Customers who need an adjustment made to their account can call contact the authority’s customer service line at 215-343-2538.
The billing error has been communicated to Bristol Borough officials, along with information on how to refer residents with inquiries to the authority.
