The retailer known for personalized and specialty gifts closed with little notice last week, according to a worker at a store in the mall and social media posts.

“The team is working on moving into an exciting new chapter,” the company posted on their website.

The Oxford Valley Mall store in Middletown Township was cleared out as of Wednesday evening.

Closures appear to have impacted all of Things Remembered’s 130-plus stores.

Things Remembered was a fixture in malls in 24 states, according to a report from The Freeman, a local newspaper in Wisconsin.

The company had filed for bankruptcy in 2019 due to financial struggles.

On Tuesday, it was announced 1-800-FLOWERS.COM Inc. has acquired the Things Remembered brand. The company said it plans to fold it into its e-commerce platform, which already includes Personalization Mall.

“The expansion of our personalized gifting platform with the addition of the Things Remembered brand and product offerings further solidifies our leadership position in the growing market for personalized gifts,” said 1-800-FLOWERS.COM Inc. CEO Chris McCann.
