
Penndel Borough is looking for residents willing to apply to be on the town’s governing body.

Following the recent resignation of Council Member Laura Germain, the borough is seeking residents to fill the position for the next year.
The seat must be filled by a resident of Penndel Borough that has lived in the borough for at least the past year prior to appointment. They must also be registered to vote and be at least 18 years old.
Letters of interest must be received to the borough by Friday, January 13 at noon. Letters can be mailed or hand-delivered to Penndel Borough Hall at 300 Bellevue Avenue.

Gary Nickerson is the council president who was appointed to the leadership role after the resignation of another council member in late 2022. He is asking residents who are interested in serving on council to apply.
“It’s extremely rewarding and you get to impact the community you live in for the better,” he said. “It is a serious position and you’re making decisions that shape your town, but it is rewarding.”

Council has two meetings per month and the position often involves hearing from residents.
The council plans to appoint a new member at their January 17 meeting.
