The former head of the Bucks County Democratic Committee will advise Gov.-Elect Josh Shapiro and Lt. Gov.-Elect Austin Davis’ incoming administration on economic development.

John Cordisco, a lawyer and former state representative, confirmed he will serve on a transition advisory committee on economic development in Pennsylvania. He said he confirmed the appointment with transition staff on Thursday.
“I think my ability to work with the private, public sector, and labor will lend itself to this role, and this will be a new challenge for me,” Cordisco said.
Aside from his work in the private sector as a lawyer, he touted his work advising companies as they develop in the region.

When he served as a lawmaker, the Bristol Borough native said he was proud to be a candidate endorsed by both labor unions and industry.
Cordisco said he wants to make Pennsylvania attractive to both workers and companies.

“I’m pretty excited about it and honored and humbled by the opportunity,” he said. “The thought of being able to create jobs in the commonwealth with the new administration is very exciting.”
Cordisco, who didn’t run for reelection as the head of the county Democrats earlier this year, said while he has been involved in politics for years, he has never served on a gubernatorial transition team and is excited to bring Bucks County’s voice to Harrisburg once again.
Cordisco continues to serve on the boards for the Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority and SEPTA.

In addition, Bristol Borough resident Michael McDonnell has been named to the transition team’s committee on human services.
McDonnell is the communications manager for the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests and a certified peer specialist who has worked for several human services groups in the region.

Cordisco and McDonnell join several other Bucks Countians on Shapiro-Davis transition committees.
Shapiro and Davis are set to be sworn in on January 17, 2023.
