With so many people talking about the latest version of an artificial intelligence chatbot, we enlisted it to write about Levittown and Bucks County.
Artificial intelligence writing tool GPT-3 responds to inquiries in a conversational manner. The chatbot keeps track of the conversations flow and bases its subsequent responses on past queries and answers.

We used the chatbot this week to draw up some fictional stories after we entered prompts. We were inspired by our friends at Arlington, Virginia local news site ARLNow.com to undertake this endeavor.
Our prompt: Write a story in the style of Charles Dickens about a Levittown, Pennsylvania resident having trouble deciding which grocery store to go to.
The chatbot’s work: It was a cold and dreary day in the quaint suburb of Levittown, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. Eliza Smith was having trouble deciding which grocery store to go to. She had heard many good things about the local supermarket, but it was a bit out of her way. She had also seen advertisements for the new store that had recently opened on the other side of town.

Mrs. Smith sighed as she thought about the decision she had to make. She had been a loyal customer of the local store for years, but she was tempted by the lower prices and convenience of the new store. She thought about the money she could save, but she also thought about the friendly service she had always received from the local store.
Mrs. Smith eventually decided to go to the local store. It took her a bit longer to get there, but she was glad she did. The staff was friendly and helpful, and she was even able to find some items on sale.

As she left the store, she felt good about her decision and knew she had made the right choice. Mrs. Smith smiled to herself as she walked to her car, content in the knowledge that she had made the right decision. She knew that no matter which store

Suddenly, the lights flicker and dim. The school board members look around in confusion.

BOARD MEMBER: What’s going on?
Suddenly, a loud noise echoes through the room. Everyone looks around as the noise gets louder and louder.

Suddenly, a figure appears in the middle of the room, shrouded in a mysterious fog. Everyone gasps in fear and amazement. The figure slowly moves towards the board members, its face hidden in the fog.
BOARD MEMBER: What is this? Who are you?

The figure stops and speaks in a deep, echoing voice.

The chatbot’s work: ‘Twas the night before Christmas in Bucks County, PA The snow was falling and the wind blowing cold The snowflakes spun around us like a wintry ballet As the stars twinkled in the sky so bold.
The families all gathered around the fire The aroma of cookies and hot cocoa lingered in the air The children all waited with anticipation for Santa to come visit them there.

The firelight cast a warm and golden glow On the presents that sat beneath the tree The stockings were hung with great care In hopes that Saint Nick soon would be.
The kids all snuggled in their beds Dreaming of their Christmas morning joys The adults were tucked away in the other room Reading Christmas stories with heartfelt poise.
The morning light brought joy to all The snow had blanketed the scene As we opened up our presents with love We all knew it was a Christmas to be seen.

Our prompt: Write a story in Shakespearean prose as to why drivers from New Jersey are so bad when they drive on the roads of Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
The chatbot’s work: Once, upon a time, in a fair land known as New Jersey, there dwelt a people who were renowned for their driving skills. They had no qualms about traversing their native roads, albeit sometimes at a rather hasty pace.
But, when these same drivers ventured across the state line into Bucks County, Pennsylvania, their driving skills appeared to diminish. They drove in a manner most peculiar, often in a manner not befitting their usual finesse and skill.

This vexed many a Pennsylvania resident, for it seemed these New Jersey drivers were oblivious to the fact that they drove in a foreign land, and the locals did not take kindly to the New Jersey drivers’ proclivity to break their traffic laws.
What could be the cause of this strange behavior? Why did the New Jersey drivers act so differently when driving in Bucks County?
The answer, it was said, was due to the different roads. The roads of Bucks County were unfamiliar, and the New Jersey drivers were not used to the twists and turns, the hills and valleys, and the varying speed limits that Bucks County offered.
And, so, it became the tradition that when a New Jersey driver crossed the border into Pennsylvania

Our prompt: Write a song about a black bear that wanders in Levittown and gets lost.
The chatbot’s work: Verse 1: A black bear wandered in Levittown,
Lost and alone in a suburban town
He looked for a way to get out of this place,
But all he could see was a world of gray space.
Chorus: Oh, where did the black bear go?
He was lost in Levittown,
He wandered and searched,
But he could not be found.
Verse 2: He walked and he stumbled on streets of cement,
Hoping to find a place that he could feel content.
He looked for a way to get back where he belonged,
But all that he found was a world that was wrong.
Chorus: Oh, where did the black bear go?
He was lost in Levittown,
He wandered and searched,
But he could not be found.
Verse 3: The black bear wandered all through the town,
Searching for a way to turn his luck around.
He looked for a way to find his true home,
But all he could find was an unfamiliar zone.
Chorus: Oh, where did the black bear go?
He was lost in Levittown.
