Two power outages in Bristol Township’s Levittown section Monday were caused by vehicles damaging equipment.

The first incident happened around 8:45 a.m. on Holly Drive near Appletree Pass when a Waste Management trash truck got caught in overhead wires and broke a utility pole.
Appropriately 400 PECO customers were left without service until it was restored by late morning.
A LevittownNow.com reader also reported their internet service was disrupted due to by the incident.

No injuries were reported.
Bristol Township Fire Rescue and the Levittown No. 2 and Fairless Hills fire companies responded in addition to police.

A second crash damaged utility equipment and put a smaller number of homes into the dark.
The crash happened just past 1:15 p.m. along Green Lane between Harry S. Truman High School and Whitewood Drive in Bristol Township’s Levittown section when a sedan struck a utility pole.

Following the crash, about 17 PECO customers were left in the dark as repair work got underway.

The vehicle broke the utility pole and caused it to lean over the lanes of travel.
Bristol Township Fire Rescue and the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad were on the scene, but no life-threatening injuries were reported.
