Firefighters responded to the Oxford Valley Mall Wednesday afternoon for a trash compactor fire.
Just before 4 p.m., crews were called to the closed Boscov’s store at the mall in Middletown Township for a report of a building fire.
Frank Farry, the chief of the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company, said it was discovered upon arrival that a trash compactor in a garage of the store was on fire.

Contractors used a piece of heavy equipment to move the trash compactor until firefighters arrived and dumped water on it, Farry said.
Drone footage captured by LevittownNow.com reader Anthony D’Alessandro showed smoking coming from the blaze before firefighters arrived.
Farry said the fire filled the soon-to-be demolished store with smoke.
No injuries were reported.
Fire crews remained at the scene for about an hour.

In addition to the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company and the Middletown Township Department of Fire and Emergency Management, crews from the Fairless Hills, Levittown No. 2, Penndel, and William fire companies responded.
Developer CornerstoneTracy is in the early stages of building a two-phase 600-plus apartment complex at the site.
