Previously uncounted votes from a polling place pushed Republican Joe Hogan ahead of Democrat Mark Moffa on Monday. Since late last Friday, Moffa was ahead of Hogan by only two votes.

As of Monday afternoon, Moffa had 15,239 votes and Hogan had 15,353 votes, according to the Bucks County Board of Elections’ unofficial vote tally.
The Bucks County Board of Elections will meet Tuesday to discuss what officials believe are approximately 156 segregated mail-in/absentee ballots, 275 provisional, and 32 military ballots are from precincts in the 142nd Legislative District.
The 142nd Legislative District race has been the tightest in the state and could determine whether Democrats or Republicans have control of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

Democratic and Republican election lawyers are circling the race and keep track of what happens.
The latest batch of votes added Monday come from a Northampton Township polling place whose votes weren’t fully counted last week.

“In the normal course of ensuring the results of last week’s election, Board of Elections discovered Friday that some in-person votes – including some ballots cast in the 142 House District – were not included in the county’s unofficial election results. Those results have been reflected in a Monday update to the unofficial totals,” said county spokesperson James O’Malley said.
The county confirmed the previously-uncounted votes by looking at paper ballots, O’Malley said.
Democratic and Republican sources said county election workers informed the candidates at the end of last week of the uncounted votes and the plan to count them.

Since election day, both Democrats and Republicans have been confident their candidates will take the seat, which is presently held by Republican State Rep. Frank Farry, who won his election to head to the Pennsylvania Senate.
Moffa didn’t comment, and Hogan didn’t immediately respond.
