State Sen. Steve Santarsiero will be representing the 10th State Senate District for another four years.

Santarsiero, of Lower Makefield Township, held off a challenge from Republican Matthew McCullough, of Newtown Township, in Tuesday’s general election by earning 57 percent of the votes, according to unofficial election results.
Patrick Brennan, Santarsiero’s campaign manager, said early Wednesday morning that the campaign wasn’t declaring victory yet.
“We feel very confident at this moment, but we’re going to wait until every vote is counted,” he said.

The 10th State Senate District stretches from Upper Bucks County to Lower Bucks County, including all of Bristol Borough, Bristol Township, Falls Township, and Tullyown Borough.
Santarsiero is a former state representative who has strong liberal credentials and is the chair of the Bucks County Democratic Committee. Santarsiero, a former teacher and attorney, has a wife and three kids.

McCullough is a businessman who has training in nursing. He is married and has two children.
McCullough faced some controversy when record of his 2011 arrest for public intoxication at a Nashville strip club became public. He owned up to the incident and said it isn’t “indicative of who I am.”
