There’s something unique happening in Levittown’s North Park neighborhood. Residents have reported sightings of a Demogorgon, a large spiderweb, a group of teenagers who trouble always finds, and the much feared Vecna.

The sightings stem from the handcrafted Halloween display installed by the Yarnell family at the corner of North Park Drive and North Park Lane near Penn Valley Elementary School in Falls Township.
The family, who has previously displayed self-made Halloween and Christmas decorations, have stepped it up this year with a set up based on the hit Netflix thriller series “Stranger Things.”
Brian and Jennifer Yarnell said their display was inspired by their fandom of the series. Their 16-year-old daughter Erica pushed them to watch the show, which the whole family now is in love with.

“I started making it in September,” Brian said of the handcrafted characters.
“We try to keep it tasteful and not go overboard,” Brian said.

The display also features festive lighting, a fog machine, and music, including Kate Bush’s 1985 hit “Running Up That Hill.” The song has seen a recent resurgence due to it being featured heavily in the most recent season of Stranger Things.
Brian and Jennifer Yarnell said their family has bonded over watching Stranger Things.

“We love it because it takes us back to the 80s,” she said.

“It takes you back to being a kid in the 80s,” Brian said of the series. “And our daughter got us into it.”
The whole family has attended Stranger Things fan festivals. Erica’s room even has a Stranger Things theme full with a glowing portal to what the show calls “the upside down,” an alternate dimension that drives much of the series’ plot.
For the viewing of new seasons, the family has even been known to decorate the inside of their home.

The display has drawn the attention of Levittown residents who walk by or slowly drive past the house.
“We love it and people go by and take pictures,” Jennifer said. “It’s cool.”
