On Sunday around 8:28 a.m., Falls Township police were called to the Fairless Motors dealership in the 400 block of Lincoln Highway for a report a man who was acting suspicious and tooling around under a car, according to court papers.
Responding officers arrived and found Brandon J. Enger, 23, of Bristol Borough, under a car with a cutting tool in his hand, police said.
The arresting officer wrote Enger was “in the progress of cutting a catalytic converter.”
Officers said they spotted several loose catalytic converters and a backpack at a nearby wooded area, which is where a witness reported also seeing the man.

Enger had the cutting tool and several blades for it in his possession when officers found him, police said.
Several blue wax baggies labeled “COBAT” were found along with a syringe. Apparent heroin was found too, police said.

During an interview with an officer, Enger said he was cutting catalytic converters from vehicles with the intention of selling them to support his drug habit, police said.
The dealership property manager stated Enger was never given permission to be on the property or to cut away catalytic converters, police said.
The several catalytic converters found with Enger were valued at more than $5,000, police said.

Enger was preliminarily arraigned Sunday afternoon by on-call District Judge Kevin Wagner on charges of theft from a vehicle, receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal mischief, possession of an instrument of crime with intent, and defiant trespassing. He was held on 10 percent of $75,000 bail.
