A Levittown man was shot dead at work on Friday in Delaware County.

According to Tinicum Township police in Delaware County, Bart Masciulli, 51, of Levittown, was killed at a FedEx distribution center near Philadelphia International Airport around 2 p.m.
The suspect in the shooting walked up to the window of Masciulli’s car in the 8700 block of Essington Avenue and fired multiple times, striking him. He was fatally wounded, Delaware County authorities said.
Masciulli’s death is being investigated as a possible instance of workplace violence, authorities said.

As police were investigating the shooting, Philadelphia Police Department officers encountered the suspect around 5:30 p.m. in the area of 10th and Westmoreland streets and he opened fire.
“Now we have an individual that’s shooting at our officers from a standing position and he’s now walking toward the officers that have set up and did everything they could to establish some sort of cover,” Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said, according to 6abc.

The suspect was grazed by a bullet fired by an officer and taken to Temple University Hospital, according to reports.
The name of the suspect had not been released as of Saturday morning.
Masciulli, who lived in Middletown Township’s Levittown section, according to public records, was a 28-year employee of FedEx.

“We are shocked and saddened by this senseless act of violence. Our heartfelt thoughts are with the victim and all those affected by this tragic event. We are fully cooperating with the investigating authorities,” FedEx said in a statement to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
