
A truck driver ended up in the hospital after a crash on a local highway ramp last week.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the crash happened last Friday at 5:55 a.m. on the I-295 eastbound ramp to Route 1 southbound in Middletown Township.
The 51-year-old Brooklyn, New York City man who was driving the 2016 Freightliner truck lost control and crashed into the woods along the ramp, state police said.
Troopers said the truck sustained heavy front-end damage in the crash.

The 51-year-old driver sustained a minor injury and was transported to St. Mary Medical Center by the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad.
The ramp was closed for more than an hour as the truck was removed, and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection were notified of the crash, state police said.

The driver of the truck will be given a traffic citation for the crash.
