The new boxes are able to collect used, unneeded and expired sharps (needles, syringes, lancets/finger sticks, and auto injectors) in a safe and convenient way. They compliment hospital-based medication disposal boxes.
Locally, Jefferson Bucks Hospital in Falls Township has one in the hospital lobby next to medication disposal box that is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and at St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown Township in the hospital lobby next to medication disposal box that is open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Other sharps disposal boxes are available at Doylestown Hospital, Grand View Hospital, and St. Lukeโs Hospital-Quakertown.

Officials said the new boxes will make it easier for residents to dispose of sharps on their own.
The boxes are made possible through the Bucks County Drug and Alcohol Commission, Bucks County Commissioners, the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, and the Bucks County Healthcare Improvement Partnership (BCHIP)
