The fire happened on Stanford Road at 9:07 p.m. Fire crews were dispatched for a home that was ablaze.
Neighbors reported to the fire marshal that they heard a loud clap and spotted a lightning strike in the minutes before flames were found.
Fire officials said crews arrived to find heavy flames in the rear laundry area of the home and the flames were spreading to the attic, Fairless Hill Fire Company Chief Keith Bidlingmaier said.

Firefighters were able to quickly bring down the flames and crews checked to make sure there wasn’t further extension.
The fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes, Bidlingmaier said.

Falls Township Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said the cause of the blaze is the lightning, which came during nighttime thunderstorms.
The home suffered heat, smoke and water damage throughout.
The Fairless Hills, Falls Township, Levittown No. 1, Levittown No. 2, Penndel, and William Penn fire companies responded. The Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad responded to the scene.
