A recent guest at the Hammock Hotel along Route 13 in Bristol Township described the place as a “nightmare.” Reviews describe food found in rooms, vermin traps, and blood found on the sheets and in the bathrooms.

Sometime soon, the hotel, which remained open as of last Friday, will be torn down and become the site of a new 130,000-square-foot distribution facility.
Last Thursday, Bristol Township Council approved the preliminary and final development plans by BCCI Levittown LLC.
The company has plans to tear down the hotel to construct the 130,000-square-foot distribution facility with 14 loading spaces.

The warehouse will be built on the same area of the nine-acre site as the hotel. There will be driveways along Route 13, Airport Road, and Hardy Street.
The site in the 6200 block of Route 13 by the Pennsylvania Turnpike bridge will include two underground stormwater basin and the portion of property against Delaware Canal State Park will be preserved.

A representative for the developer said work will begin once all other permits are obtained.
Last year, the project received $250,000 in state tax credits and it was listed as being a logistics and refrigerated warehouse, but more details on the operator have not been made public. The operator was listed as a “well-qualified tenant.”
BCCI Levittown LLC has an agreement to purchase the property.

The hotel was last sold by Ratan Rty LLC to HR Penn LLC for $4.8 million in June 2015.
Officials have previously called the Hammock Hotel a “safety concern” that has had complaints of “loitering, needles, trash and 911 calls.”

In late spring, the hotel was listed for sheriff’s sale, but that didn’t move forward.
