The lane closures will take place in both directions between Veterans Highway (Route 413) at Bristol and West Lincoln Highway at the Penndel/Levittown interchanges in Bristol and Middletown townships on Thursday and Friday from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
The lane closures are planned due to “high priority” bridge construction along the highway, according to PennDOT officials.
The work will include replacing rocker bearings, frozen sliding plate bearings and deck expansion joints; cleaning and painting steel beams; repairing substructure concrete; and reconstructing bearing pedestals, according to PennDOT.

State transportation officials asked drivers to give extra time when traveling through the work area.
All the work is weather dependent.
