Last Thursday just before 7 p.m., Bristol Township police were dispatched to the 500 block of Excelsior Avenue in the Croydon section of the township for a report of a man armed with a firearm, court documents stated.
At the scene, an officer talked with a man who said he arrived at an Excelsior Avenue home to speak with his ex-girlfriend. Upon arrival, he came into contact with Michael John Karnicky, 56, of Levittown, who was described as a friend of the woman, police said.
Karnicky and the man who came to speak with his ex-girlfriend argued and the 56-year-old man got in his face, puffed out his chest, and pulled a Smith and Wesson Bodyguard 380 from his pocket, police said.

Karnicky then struck the man in the left side of his face with the gun, police said.
The man was reported to have suffered two lacerations – one to the top of his head and one to the side of his face near his eye.

After the injured man got into his vehicle, Karnicky allegedly pointed the gun at his face and offered to “take care” of the man for the woman, police said.
Karnicky was taken before an on-call district judge early Friday morning and preliminarily arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, firearm not to be carried without a license, possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment, and two counts of simple assault. He was hauled to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $75,000 bail.
