Firefighters Halt Blaze In Home

No injuries were reported during a fire Saturday evening.

Firefighters were called to the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue in Hulmeville Borough at 6:10 p.m.

They arrived to find a home ablaze with the bulk of the flames in a second-floor bedroom.

Crews began an aggressive attack on the flames and were able to halt the fire, stopping the spread within minutes of arrival, William Penn Fire Company Deputy Chief Jim Bamfield said.

The fire was placed under control by 6:29 p.m., according to Hulmeville Borough Fire Marshal William Wheeler.

No cause was determined as of late evening.

The county fire marshal is working with Wheeler to determine the cause.

The Parkland, Penndel, and Newport fire companies assisted William Penn crews at the scene. The Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad also responded.
