Navy Releases Images Of Local Sailors

The U.S. Navy recently released images of Levittown-area sailors at work and play.

The images show the locals on nuclear-powered aircraft carriers earlier this spring.

The USS Harry S. Truman was commissioned on July 25, 1998 has served around the world, including in support of the War of Terror and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The ship is just over 1,000 feet long and carries about 6,000 service members.

The USS Nimitz was commissioned on May 3, 1975. The ship served on missions to attempt to rescue American hostages in Iran in 1979, Operation Desert Storm, the War on Terror, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The USS Nimitz is just over 1,000 feet long and carries about 6,000 crew members.
