A man lost his leg in a motorcycle crash in Middletown Township.
The crash happened at 8:40 a.m. Saturday on West Maple Avenue in the area of Aspen Avenue.

The crash involved a collision between a pickup truck and a motorcycle. The motorcyclist lost a leg in the wreck, authorities said.
The Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad and Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad responded, and the motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Parkland Fire Company Deputy Chief Bob Barnes said the motorcycle traveled about 100 yards from the scene of the crash.
A nearby off-duty police officer arrived seconds after the crash and aided the injured motorcyclist, Barnes said.
The driver of the pickup truck did not suffer serious injuries.

West Maple Avenue was closed for hours as police investigated the crash.
Firefighters helped contain a fuel leak caused by the wreck.
